Harvard University Scholarships for International Students 2027

khinkodie

Harvard University offers generous financial aid to international undergraduate students who are admitted to Harvard College. Harvard states that international students have access to the same financial aid funding as U.S. students and that requesting financial aid does not reduce an applicant’s chances of admission. Harvard uses a need-blind admissions policy and meets 100% of demonstrated financial need for admitted students.

Harvard’s financial aid is based on financial need rather than academic, athletic, or merit performance. Aid packages can include scholarship funds and student employment, while loans are available but are not required. Scholarship funds used to meet demonstrated need do not have to be repaid.

How Much Financial Aid Can Students Receive?

Harvard’s current affordability guidelines state that families with annual incomes of $100,000 or less and typical assets can expect to pay nothing for their student to attend Harvard.

Families earning between $100,000 and $200,000, with typical assets, receive financial aid covering at least the full cost of tuition, with additional assistance potentially available.

Families earning above $200,000 may also qualify depending on their circumstances.
These figures are guidelines rather than guaranteed scholarship amounts.

2027 Application Deadlines

For first-year applicants, Harvard lists:

Restrictive Early Action: November 1, 2026

Regular Decision: January 1, 2027

For financial aid, Harvard's 2027–2028 schedule lists November 1 for Restrictive Early Action/QuestBridge Match and February 1 for Regular Decision.

How International Students Apply

International applicants use the same admissions process as other applicants and can apply through the Common Application. Harvard requires international students to follow its financial-aid application instructions, including the CSS Profile and IDOC.

Final Thoughts

Harvard’s need-blind admission policy and commitment to meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need make its financial-aid program an important opportunity for qualified international students. However, admission and financial aid are not guaranteed, and each applicant’s financial package is determined individually.

Students should begin preparing their academic and financial documents early and always use Harvard’s official admissions and financial-aid websites when completing their 2027 application.
